Sewing hexagons and pentagons together into three dimensional objects was a little harder than I anticipated! It is definitely not perfect, but I think she'll have fun playing with it anyway. Happy birthday Ali!
9 just for kicks.

I stitched up this stuffed ball this weekend from the Just for Kicks Ball pattern in AMH's Seams to Me book. Little Alaina turns one today so I figured she needed a new toy to match the quilt I gave her last year.

It's beautiful. I can imagine that was pretty difficult to construct, but the result is very impressive!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a fun toy. I am amazed at all that piecing. The fabric is lovely too.
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this! It's like a more beautiful, colorful, and cuddly soccer ball!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! She will love it- it's perfect for a one year old :) Both my kids loved playing stuffed toys that "crinkled" when they squeezed them- you know, like when you squish up an empty Sun Chip bag? I wonder if you could back some of the fabrics with a leftover bag to give it that crinkly sound? Hmmm...or add little ribbon "tags", like a taggie blanket?
ReplyDeleteThat's one of those projects that's always caught my eye. What a cool idea to give it as a one-year-old gift!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks perfect - I'm so glad that I found you wonderful Blog today.
