6 New Items in the Shop!

3.21.2014

I'm really excited to share a little project I've been working on lately!  I've decided to make a few new items for my shop.  I've been on the hunt for a pretty knitting gauge and thread organizer.  I wanted something modern and also something that would look pretty in photos if I'm using it with my projects.  Call me superficial but beautiful things are important to me! :)  Anyway, I have a few different items in the works, but the first ones just came back and I am in love!

First up, a pretty little knitting gauge!
The knitting gauge is engraved with "i heart knitting" and a little heart.  It has needle sizes 0-17, along with a ruler to check gauge on your swatches.

Next, a thread organizer and needle minder to keep track of all your embroidery floss and needle during your stitching projects!
Great for cross stitch, embroidery, hand quilting, etc.  Engraved with "i heart stitching" and the same cute heart design.  There are 27 holes to keep your floss colors organized, and a little magnet to keep your needle in place when you're not using it.
Both designs are laser cut and engraved into 1/8" thick walnut.  I think I'll be hand waxing them too to give them a bit of shine.
They are available for pre-order in my shop now!  $14 each, or get both for $25!  They will ship by the end of April at the latest.  I only have US shipping options listed at the moment, but if you're international please send me a message and I will give you a shipping quote!

8.15.2012

I'm having an end of summer sale in the shop this week!  Get $2 off of my Colorblock Quilt Pattern and Adventure Printable, and $25 off of the Neon Chevron Quilt.  Prices are already updated, so no need for any coupon codes :)  Sale prices will be valid through Sunday.

I've also listed a couple of quilt kits!  They are one of a kind kits, so if you want one, grab it fast! :)

20 neon chevron quilt.

5.18.2012

This neon chevron quilt has been finished for awhile, but for some reason I just couldn't get around to photographing it!  I finally took it outside today to get some pictures, just in time to participate in the Blogger's Quilt Festival.

This quilt was inspired by the neon and chevron trends that have been so prevalent lately.  It's definitely bright and fun!

The focal point of this quilt is obviously the multi-colored chevron strip.  Basically I strip pieced together three solid strips, then cut them into squares and paired them with white to make half square triangles.  There was a lot of extra trimming to get the stripes to line up with the next part of the chevron that was not so fun and definitely not documented, so there won't ever be a pattern for this quilt, sorry!  Maybe someday I'll try again, but maybe not. :)

As you can see I echo quilted along the chevron panel to bring out the pattern even more, and the rest I just quilted in random straight lines.
The back is just simple stripes, but the chevron quilting makes it a lot more fun!
The solids I used are Kona Medium Gray, Cactus, Cerise, Melon, and White.  It's bound in the Cerise as well.
It is a larger baby quilt or small lap size, at 40" x 62".
It folds up perfectly to show off the chevron!
This one is listed in my shop!

If you have a chance, make sure to stop by Amy's Creative Side to look through all of gorgeous quilts that have been linked up for the Blogger's Quilt Festival!

23 Colorblock Quilt Pattern now available!

4.18.2012

The long-awaited Colorblock Quilt Pattern is finished!  You can purchase it in my new pattern shop!
The pattern features tons of cutting and assembly diagrams to help you make this 40 x 55" baby quilt, along with helpful tips to make the process even easier.  Purchasing the pattern also gives you a license to sell any colorblock quilts you've made on a home-based production level.

I have lots of pattern testers to thank for helping me make sure the pattern was easy to understand.  I wanted to make sure it was just as easy for beginners as it is for more experienced quilters!  Tomorrow I'll share some of the gorgeous quilts that were made by my testers.

Here are the two quilts that I've made using this pattern.  One for a baby boy...
and one for a baby girl.
This quilt is seriously so fast and easy to make!  The pattern is available in PDF form and will be emailed to you immediately after purchase.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

6 more market totes.

4.05.2011

Another shop update today...this time with more market totes!
My sister even modeled for me to better illustrate the scale.
Isn't she cute?

0 weekend sewing.

4.04.2011

I started putting together my next quilt, some striped chevrons with colors that remind me of sherbet (and not of the Pips variety...I sadly do not own any of that type, yet!).
I made a few pincushions out of the leftover strips, and they're listed in the shop!

2 shop update...finally!

3.27.2011

I finally got a few things listed in my shop!  There are a few market totes in there now, with more to come in the next week.
It feels good to not have an empty shop for once!  :)

4 instant gratification.

3.18.2011

Sometimes I just need instant gratification.  This time it came in the form of some fun coasters.
I really liked the teal/blue/lime/gray color scheme I used in this pillow, so I used up some of the leftover scraps to make a set of 6 coasters.  There are two different designs in the set.
I used leftover batting scraps in the middle and backed them in linen.

These may be headed to my shop soon!
I've been working on some other items for the shop as well....including a few market totes that I've had cut for months!  I hope to finally list them next week sometime.

17 in need of opinions.

6.13.2010

The bijou lovely shop is coming soon, but I have a fundamental question for you all.
Etsy or bigcartel?  I really want to hear your opinions on the matter, because at the moment I'm torn.
